I actually left Blue Ridge the end of our Freshman Year. I moved to Tucson and have been here ever since. I have kept in touch with Vickie all these years. Recently got back into touch with Grace and Amy among some others. After graduation I attended Pima Community College for a year or so. I got married and pregnant all in 1 year! I was then a housewife/mother. I divorced when my son was 2 and have been a single mom since. It's been difficult at times, but I had loads of help from family and friends. I tried being a single mom, working fulltime and attending night school, but after a while my son started suffering so I decided to give up school and concentrate on just being a mom. I have since realized it's the path God wanted me to take. I have been truly blessed! I am currently dating the love of my life. David and I have been off an on for 13 years this July. We broke up for 5 of those 13 years, but have been going strong for 4 1/2 yrs now and are discussing getting married by the end of this year. He is such an amazing man!
My son has been such a blessing in my life. He has had to overcome some obsticles in his life, but has become a stronger more grounded man for it! At age 5 he was diagnosed with ADD, was on Ritalin til age 9 when I decided I was tired of having a zombie for a son and took him off meds. He didn't suffer with school work so I felt it was a great decision! At age 11 he was diagnosed with Epilepsy. Boy was this a rough year for us! He did not have convulsive siezures but more Aura/spacing out type siezures. He is now Seizure FREE!!! and has been off meds for 3 1/2 years. He attends an Epilepsy Camp (Camp Candlelight) in Heber, AZ 1 week every summer (since 2002) and has now become a counselor for the kids at Camp. Something he thouroughly enjoys and looks forward to. Having Epilepsy I feel is part of the reason he is interested in Pediatric Psychology/Neurology. He loves children and they stick to him like glue! Michael graduated High School in May this year and we have decided Pima Community College is cheaper for his first year or two of College, where then he will transfer to the UofA (hopefully, I dont want him moving away!!!) He is very active, into Free Running, Rock Climbing, and Music. He plays the Guitar (has had a few lessons, but mostly taught himself) for our Worship Band at Church and is teaching himself to play the drums. We are currently looking for an apt. for him. He's at the age we all were once when we dont want to live at home anymore. This is going to be tough for me, since it's been he and I for so long! But I am excited to see where this next path in his life leads him. God knows and has huge plans for Michael!
I am currently working for my parents. We had a Powder Coating business, which I ran for 8 years, but now have a Machine Shop, where we make parts for the Medical and Optical Field. Life really is great!
See you all Soon!!
Kim
